Reform UK is building a team of candidates capable of forming the next Government of the United Kingdom.
The Reform UK Board has agreed to move forward with stage one - Eligibility - by opening applications to the List of approved candidates.
Apply to be placed on the approved candidates list
Rules to be published in due course
Final stage before election
The process will be extremely thorough. Applicants can expect the process for being accepted onto the List to take around 12 months.
Applicants will be assessed in five parts
Applicants will pay a fee of £250 to apply to the List. This is a reasonable amount given the resources the Party will be committing in vetting, staff time, assessment and administration.
The Application will enable the Party to gather all of the information to progress candidates through vetting.
The vetting for our Parliamentary candidates will need to be the most stringent of any UK political party.
Vetting will be conducted in two main parts, with applicants informed once the vetting checks have been completed. If successful, they will be entitled to attend a Parliamentary Assessment Centre.
A further £150 will be required to undertake a Parliamentary Assessment Centre. This will be the final fee to be paid during the process.
The assessment will primarily test applicants' communication skills.
Those who pass the PAC will undergo an assessment as to their alignment with Reform UK core principles and policies.
Applicants will be interviewed individually by a Panel of approved assessors, who will be senior figures in the Party. Issues arising from the previous four stages of assessment can be explored and key questions regarding their suitability can be assessed.
Candidates will be assessed on the following
Further detail will be provided to those who pass the vetting stages, ahead of the Parliamentary Assessment Centre.
The Reform Candidates Panel, created by the Party Board, will decide on each application
Applicants will pay a fee of £250 to apply to the List. A further £150 will be required to undertake a Parliamentary Assessment Centre.
Being on the Approved List does not entitle someone to call themselves a "candidate". This can only be done once they have been selected for a constituency. The Party will publish further rules regarding Selections in due course. The selection of candidates is covered in Section 12 of the Constitution.
Branch Officers must resign within 3 months of being successfully placed on the List.
The decision of the Reform Candidates Panel is final and there is no right of appeal.
